Binissalem’s Wine Harvest Festival (Mid to Late September)
If you’re looking to experience the true agricultural and festive spirit of Mallorca, the Festa des Vermar in Binissalem is a must.
This iconic event takes place over two to three weeks in September, turning the small wine-producing town into the island’s heart of celebration. It marks the end of the grape harvest with music, dancing, food, parades, and of course lots of wine.
🍷 What You’ll Experience:
-
Grape Crushing Shows
Traditional demonstrations where grapes are stomped by foot — a fun and photogenic activity for all ages. -
Wine Tastings from DO Binissalem Wineries
Sample dozens of wines made in the region — both red and white, still and sparkling. Many local producers offer free tastings in the town square. -
Vermar Parade & Community Meal
Locals dress in traditional attire and parade through the streets, followed by a massive communal “sopar de vermar” (grape harvest dinner), often served in the open air. -
Raïm en Festa – The Grape Battle
Think of it as a mini tomato festival… but with grapes. It’s a playful event mostly for young people, and it’s messy — wear old clothes!
